House of Awakened Culture

The House of Awakened Culture was completed in 2009 as a communal gathering place inspired by the dxʷsəq̓ʷəb Village Longhouse. It restored a traditional-scale community space after the destruction of Chief Seattle's longhouse in 1870.

The building hosts tribal ceremonies, Canoe Journey, Chief Seattle Days, conferences, workshops, and intertribal or governmental events. It is not a drop-in museum; public access depends on the event.
