Washington Veterans Home Cemetery at Retsil

Washington Veterans Home Cemetery at Retsil
Washington Veterans Home Cemetery at Retsil

Description

The Washington Veterans Home opened at Retsil in 1910, and its cemetery records more than a century of veteran community history. The first burial took place in 1910; remains from the original shoreline cemetery were later moved to higher ground after a new site was prepared in 1914.

The cemetery is an active place of remembrance on a care-home campus. Visitors should preserve quiet, dignity, and resident privacy.
